Robin Bilardello graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Ringling School of Art and Design in 1997. Currently, she is a VP/Senior Art Director at HarperCollins Publishers in New York, where she has worked for 15 years. Along with running the cover art deparment at Harper, her design work has been recognized by many of the top design publications: the Art Directors Club Young Guns 5, Print magazine, and AIGA 50/50 to name a few.
Peter Mendelsund is the associate art director of Alfred A. Knopf and a recovering classical pianist. His designs have been described by The Wall Street Journal as being “the most instantly recognizable and iconic book covers in contemporary fiction.” He lives in New York.
After 14 years designing and art directing book covers, Lauren Panepinto has worked in every publishing genre and collaborated with every style of artist. As the Creative Director of Orbit Books and Yen Press for the past seven years, she has been trying to merge the worlds of genre and commercial publishing and figure out what SFF publishing looks like in the present world of mainstream “geek” media.
Colleen AF Venable is the Associate Art Director for Workman Publishing where she overseas the look and design of all Workman Kids books. Formally the sole designer for First Second Books, she art directed many memorable books including the National Book Award finalist Boxers & Saints and the Caldecott and Printz Honor This One Summer. Her first picture book script, Mervin the Sloth is About To Do The Best Thing in the World, illustrated by Ruth Chan, comes out this Fall from Greenwillow, HarperCollins.
Henry Sene Yee is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, NYC. A book cover designer and the Creative Director of Picador Books in New York City. He has won numerous awards including AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers, The New York Art Directors’ Club GOLD Cube Winner, The Type Directors’ Club, The Society of Illustrators, Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual, Communication Arts, The New York Book Show, and Graphis magazine. He can always be seen with a camera in one hand and a coffee in the other.
